AURA - Faith in Action
The Bible tells us in James 2:17, “So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.” At AURA, putting our faith into action is the cornerstone of our mission. To this end, we strive to make the community surrounding our university a better place through both student and faculty-led volunteer efforts and community outreach.

Serving the less fortunate is an idea that Christianity was founded on. It’s also an idea that the medical professions we teach were founded on. Therefore, as a Christian, healthcare-focused high school, we feel especially compelled to practice what we preach and put our faith into action for the good of those who need our help.

AURA Outreach

One of the core principles of Christianity is to feed the hungry, treat the sick, and clothe the poor. Without taking care of the less fortunate at every opportunity we are given, AURA would not be able to truly live up to its name as a Christian high school.

For this reason and many others, community outreach is one of the most important things we do here at AURA. Our outreach efforts all start with the AUHS Foundation. The AUHS Foundation is a non-profit 501c3 Organization that was founded in order to provide food, clothing, health information, wellness care, and spiritual support to those in need. The AUHS Foundation works closely with the students at the university and the high school to help them both serve and learn through community outreach opportunities. In the end, these outreach opportunities are just as valuable to our students as they are to our community, which is why community outreach is one of the pillars of an AURA education.

Community

Community is an incredibly important aspect of AURA, both in the sense of the internal community we foster for our students and faculty as well as our ongoing efforts to better the community outside AURA.

Becoming a student at AURA means becoming a part of a tight-knit community centered around compassion and a love for helping others. It’s this like-minded community that is one of the most rewarding parts of attending AURA.

Rather than hide our lights, though, we at AURA believe it’s important to go out and better the community around us as well. The students at AURA are some of the most talented, gifted students the world has to offer, and when they come together as a force for good, the possibilities are endless. We’ve already been amazed at the difference our students and faculty alike have been able to make in the community surrounding the high school, and they continue to amaze us with their love and compassion each and every day.
